Guy drops his GoPro at the bottom of the ocean, and it's retrieved hours later by a friendly scuba diver

22 Aug 2014. What a day this was.

The plan was to go to Biscoitos and film ourselves jumping off the rocks into a water hole. I had never done it so I asked my friend who had jumped before to go first.....this was the only jump done with the camera.

All I had for a GoPro mount was a Gorilla flexible tripod. I didn't think that the impact of the water would cause the camera to pop off at the joint.

All my friend kept saying when he came back up was "It came off, it came off!". Honestly, all I could do was laugh. I was not mad at all. Fortunately, he had a friend who was a local certified scuba diver. He gave him a call and after about an hour and a half he came out and got it.

We didn't want to leave the area at all cause there was this one guy who was overly interested in my GoPro and was telling us that the life guards wouldn't let his friend go down to get it. They stopped telling us he couldn't go down to get it after we told them that his friend was local Portuguese. You could tell that they wanted us to leave.

This will be a great story to tell later on in life and having a video to go along with it is awesome!
